She is now in Winston-Salem with Mrs. Leary Davis while Lt. Davis is at National Guard encampment in Fort Bragg. * Miss Brenda Bunn was graduat ed from Meredith College with the honor of cum laude. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Bunn of Zebulon. Mr. and Mrs. John Gebbie II and children of Bellevue, Nebraska, spent a few days here this week visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. Gebbie, the former Pat Jones, is the granddaughter of Mrs. Helen Jones and Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Richards. Knott and daughter, Mary Ann, of Wendell. * Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hocutt recently attended the graduation of their son, Mack, from Wake Forest College. He received a bachelor of arts degree in music. Accom panying them were Mack’s sister and her husband and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Perry and Wendy. * Arriving this week from Pitts burgh, Pa., will be the sister and brother-in-law of Mrs. A. R. House, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Mette net. They will vacation here with Mrs. House for several days. * Mrs. Spencer Turrentine and sons left last Thursday for their home in Bell Buckle, Tenn., after a visit with her mother, Mrs. A. R. House. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Beck, accom panied by Alvin Beck, Gerald Beck, and Melissa Beck, attended the annual reunion of Mrs. Beck’s family—Tolson— in Darlington, S. C., Sunday. Freddie Beck entered Pembroke College Monday for the summer school sessions. * Misses Gayle Dunn, Jenny Wat kins, Betsy Rountree and Robert Pulley are attending summer school at Atlantic Christian Col lege. * / Miss Brenda Bunn, Leslie Strick land and William Bunn spent part of last week at Atlantic Beach. * Mrs. Jimmy Spivey, Mrs. Lois Clark, Mrs. O. B. Spivey, Sr., and Miss Andrea Lee Eddins spent the weekend at Atlantic Beach. * Mrs. Aaron Lowery, daughter Elisa, son Ted, and guests, Douglas McLean and Timmy Kemp are va cationing at the Lowery cottage at White Lake. Douglas McLean has been the houseguest of Ted Lowery and Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Lowery for several days. Douglas and Ted were cadets at Fork Union Mili tary Academy. Douglas' father is associated with the United Nations in Ethopia. Saturday Bridge Club Entertained Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Davis were hosts to the Saturday Night Cou ples Bridge Club recently. Roses and day lily arrangements were used for decoration. Playing were Mr. and Mrs. How ard Beck, Dr. and Mrs. Ben Thom as, Dr. and Mrs. George Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong Cannady, Mr. and Mrs. Bernice Bunn and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Finch. Refreshments following three progressions were ice cream, cook ies and coffee. Iced tea and nuts were served during play. Don’t salt your roast beef until it is % done. Salt draws out the juices and flavor. Mack Hocutt Gets Degree j Mack Hocutt, son of Mr. and I Mrs. C. M. Hocutt, Sr., of Zebu Ion, was recently graduated from Wake Forest College with a bache lor of arts degree. His major was music. While at Wake Forest, he was a member of the student chapter of the American Guild of Organ ists, and participated in the Hon ors Recital on June 2. He played two Brahms chorales, “O How Blessed, Faithful Spirits, Are Ye,” “Decfl Thyself, O My Soul,” and Mendelssohn’s “Second Organ So nata in C Minor. He was a student of Dr. Paul Robinson, &nd was among those students on the Dean’s List for having attained a high grade aver age. Mr. Hocutt’s wife, Andrea, was an instructor of piano at Wake Forest College during the 1962-63 school year. She also served as minister of music at New Hope Methodist Church. On June 10, Mr. and Mrs. Ho cutt left for Ann Arbor, Michigan, where they will enroll at the Uni versity of Michigan to pursue mas ter of sacred music degrees. Graduates Miss Anne Creech was awarded a bachelor of science degree in primary education in graduation ceremonies held at East Carolina College Sunday.
